Overview

Scott F. Stuart’s litigation practice focuses on business and commercial disputes, emphasizing rights of privacy, including the right of publicity.

Scott also handles insurance coverage disputes, representing policyholders in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. He provides coverage analysis of personal lines and commercial lines policies, with an emphasis on helping policyholders obtain defense and indemnification under a variety of liability insurance products.

Prior to joining Murphy Austin, Scott worked as a litigator at Hoge Fenton and at Willoughby, Stuart, Bening & Cook in San Jose as a litigation associate, where he helped policyholders pursue first party and third party claims, including personal property, commercial property, and liability claims.

Scott is also versed in legal issues found within the video game industry, including how gambling laws effect monetization of products through microtransactions.

Scott earned his J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law and his B.S. in Communications from the University of Utah.
