Karen S. Kim

Karen Kim is an associate with the Healthcare Law Team. Karen represents healthcare providers in payment disputes with commercial managed care and government payers.

Prior to joining Murphy Austin Adams Schoenfeld LLP, Karen was an associate in the litigation practice groups at Boutin Jones Inc. and McDonough Holland and Allen. Karen was awarded her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, in 2009. During law school, Karen was named a Sacramento County Bar Association Diversity Fellow in 2007 and received the Asian Bar Association of Sacramento Scholarship that same year.

Karen was also a member of the Moot Court in 2007 and served as the Senior Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review from 2008 to 2009. While in law school, Karen also worked as a legal extern for the California Attorney General’s Office, Public Rights Division, and as a law clerk for Porter Scott. Prior to law school,

Karen served as Press Secretary to the California Assembly Majority Leader and worked as a reporter for the community news division of the Los Angeles Times.

Karen serves as President of the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Program in California, which organizes annual youth leadership conferences focused on civic participation, advocacy, and political empowerment for Asian American high school and college students.
